Let's say I eat an average of two sandwiches a day, in order to allow for the days when I have just one and the days when I have three. I haven't had a sandwich since last Tuesday so that makes me 14 sandwiches in the hole. I had my first post-surgery sandwich tonight and it took me at least an entire half hour to eat because I have to take very small bites. This may turn out to be a positive thing because I've read that the French take smaller bites in order to chew and digest their food thoroughly, and we all know that French women don't have Sachen-sized thighs.
